On September 7, 2017, Equifax, one of the nation’s three largest credit reporting agencies, announced a cybersecurity incident notification. This notification reported that a website vulnerability resulted in unauthorized access to the names, social security numbers, birth dates, addresses and in some instances, driver’s license numbers of an estimated 143 million consumers between mid-May and July 2017.
